Professional Spiritual Care With an Ecclesiastical team comprised of three Ministers, each of which has a Practitioner background, and a powerful group of 15 Licensed Religious Science Practitioners, our church has one of the largest percentages of spiritual leaders of any congregation in the global Religious Science movement. Their consciousness, empowering presence, and dedication to serve are one of the reasons The Denver Church is such a unique and special place. Each of our Licensed Practitioners has completed four years of schooling, gone before a review panel, and completed an extensive written exam to be granted a license by United Church of Religious Science. Practitioners must abide by a uniform code of conduct and professional standards plus agree to complete continued education in order to serve. As you can tell, their education and professional commitment is exceptional, far beyond the spiritual leaders of many other denominations or religious organizations. How blessed we are to be surrounded by such a resource. Spiritual guides and consultants have been an important resource for empowering the lives of successful people throughout history. Leaders in politics, business and the arts have been known to consult some form of spiritual guide as a valuable part of their support system, especially in our rapidly changing world when it is so easy to get caught up in appearances. Our own ministers each consult a Practitioner on a regular basis and the church relies upon them for guidance. With this exceptional resource so close at hand, it is interesting to note that many people who regularly attend our church have not consulted a Practitioner. This month, the Licensed Practitioners of The Denver Church want to help you to experience what it is like to consult a spiritual professional. Each Sunday during the month of March you will have the opportunity to sit down with a Licensed Practitioner (a different one each week if you wish) for a brief “Tune-Up.” This isn’t the same as regular Practitioner sessions, but by taking a few minutes after service on Sunday could provide a convenient and easy way to experience what they do and the services they offer. Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, “Great men are they who see that spiritual is stronger than any material force, that thoughts rule the world.” A springtime Spiritual Tune-Up could be a great way to discover this spiritual power for yourself. You may wish to consult a Practitioner on a regular basis in the future, or only when you face an important decision or challenge in your life. This one brief visit may be all you need to give your life new direction. However you wish to use it, this special gift from the church and our Practitioners is available to you as a valuable part of our spiritual family and the community we serve. |
