WHAT IS RELIGIOUS SCIENCE |
| Beliefs
As Scientists explore the universe they are finding what appears to be one great, always consistent, never changing creative thought which flows through all of creation. If everything is a part of this one great perfect thought, then we, and our thoughts, are a part of that Oneness. We believe that thoughts are things; that, as the Bible says, "As you think, so shall you be", and "It shall be done to you as you believe"; indeed, a prominent saying in Religious Science is "change your thinking, change your life", popularized by Louise Hay. We believe that our thoughts touch everything, that they are in essence creative and healing. We believe that cause-and-effect operates as smoothly in the realm of thought as in any other facet of life: that our recognition and reception of love, our acknowledgement of health, and most importantly, the extent to which our thoughts express our divine purpose and direction, impact our lives positively or negatively. |
In Religious Science we base much of our belief on ten basic spiritual principles, much as a scientist base his theories and exploration on scientific principles. Just as a scientist strives to prove his principles, we believe that these spiritual principles must be demonstrated by the individual in order for the person to fully accept them. That is why our theology is called Religious Science. We do not ask people to believe through blind faith or ancient tradition. We see our positive teachings gradually demonstrated, and observable, in each person's life. Gradually a lifestyle of understanding develops. We further understand that this is an ongoing process for all humankind, which could include new principles for future generations. | ||
